Back in April, we officially announced the launch of the Blogger Babes Affiliate Center. And now with the incredible success of Blogger Babes Monthly, we hope you’re seeing an awesome turnaround!

When I first discussed affiliates in-depth on this blog, I mentioned what makes Blogger Babes’ program more lucrative than others—the two-tier system, browser cookies vs email-tracking, the right shopping cart, etc. Remember, Blogger Babes’ affiliate links don’t expire, so whether someone buys one of our eKits through you today or years from now, you’ll still be getting a percentage of the sales.

But our program being great doesn’t mean you should stick to us alone. What’s the harm in becoming an Amazon Associate? You can only make more money, right?

How to Create an Amazon Associates Affiliate Link

Step Prep: Before we begin, you’ll want to make sure you have an Amazon Associates account. You can sign up here for free.

Step 1: Search for the product you want to link. Say I want to link to my book, Empowering Women to Power Network. Searching for “empowering women ponn sabra” gets me a long, complicated URL like this:

Cut down all the text after the IBSN/ASIN (the identifier numbers for the product). Then you’ll end up with:

Step 2: Login here. On the menu bar, choose “Links & Banners” > “Link to Any Page.”

Put the direct Amazon link from step 1 in the text field, not forgetting the “http://”. Name the link. For this example, you’d want something like “Empowering Women to Power Network.”

Step 3: Click “Get HTML.” Amazon will generate the HTML for an anchor (a link), which you can highlight and copy into the text editor of your blog OR use to strip your personal affiliate link from within the generated text.

Generating the HTML for my book gives us:

  • <a target=”_blank” href=”http://www.amazon.com/Empowering-Women-Power-Network-Relationships/dp/1413775519/?_encoding=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&linkCode=ur2&tag=empowerwomenn-20&linkId=XA5DMYLJMPKAQCD4″>Empowering Women to Power Network</a><img src=”http://ir-na.amazon-adsystem.com/e/ir?t=blogbage-20&l=ur2&o=1″ width=”1″ height=”1″ border=”0″ alt=”” style=”border:none !important; margin:0px !important;” />

Which comes out like this when put into the text editor:

If you just want the affiliate link, you can find it embedded in the HTML. Our raw link is this:

  • http://www.amazon.com/Empowering-Women-Power-Network-Relationships/dp/1413775519/?_encoding=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&linkCode=ur2&tag=blogbabe-20&linkId=XA5DMYLJMPKAQCD4

The bolded part indicates that this is the link associated with us. You, of course, will have your own… so that any sales you make will go into your bank account. 😉

How have you been playing the affiliation game? Were you already an Amazon Associate? (What about with Blogger Babes?!) Share your tactics with us!
