Success Story: Made my First Affiliate Sale and Now Living My #BloggerBabesLife with Vicky Cook

So, ladies! Looking around our awesome new layout and perusing our sleekly updated Learning Library, do you need any more proof that BB 3.0 means business for your blog?

I hope not… but I’m extremely humbled and excited to share a success story with you today anyway! Lifestyle blogger Vicky Cook is all about Heart and Moxie, and her rebranded blog title, business, and life are all testament to her hard work, effort, and passion… and a little guidance from us. 😉

Achievements Worth Celebrating

The Critical Key to Long Term Blogging Profits

Waaaay back when in Blogger Babes 2.0, before we put together our treasure trove of monthly ekits, kindles, and an awesome, two-tier affiliate program… there were eguides! Heidi and I put together four simple eguides to get any blogger—from new and confused to experienced and established—to take their blogs to the next level. That’s when Vicky discovered us.

When we first met, Vicky was just starting to build her email list and didn’t know what direction to take. Luckily, Heidi and I had just released eGuide 3: Turn Your Blog Readers into Community Members and eGuide 4: The Critical Key to Long Term Blogging Profits. Both are completely centered on building result-yielding email lists.

Using the eguides alone, Vicky was able to choose an email service, consider WordPress themes, and come up with optimal ways to engage her readers. All this gave rise to her Moxie Girls Tribe, which she calls a group for women that want to live life with a lot of heart and a little (or a lot of) moxie. We definitely approve. 😉

Check out what Vicky has to say about implementing our strategies:

In less than a year, I have grown my email list to over 600 subscribers! From this, I now have an active Facebook group where Moxie Girls that are interested can meet, hang out, inspire, and support each other.  I’ve also created separate lists to track interest in upcoming workshops and courses so I have a go-to group of potential customers once I’m ready to launch my new offerings.

Congrats, Vicky! We’re SO excited about these results. There’s nothing more humbling than seeing material from our Learning Library helping you out. Heidi and I spent hours compiling all our personal knowledge and research to make these educational materials available and useful for any blogger, whether you’ve just written your first post or it’s your tenth year online.

Heart & Moxie & the #BloggerBabesLife

Vicky’s #BloggerBabesLife success isn’t completely based in our Learning Library… Vicky has been a great partner and affiliate, too! Back in April, I wrote a guest post on Heart & Moxie for the Blogger Babes tour and release of our first monthly ekitWriting Great Blog Posts Fast. Aside from our tips and tricks, the ekit included a bloggers resource list, which was Vicky’s favorite part of the kit.

A lot of the resources provided were unknown to me and have been very helpful in doing things better for my site!

Vicky was also lucky enough to play in our first affiliate contest—that’s right, she started making affiliate revenue ($$$!) through our program and has been able to gradually increase her earnings since.

What’s more, Vicky was able to make it to Blogger Babes CT Meet-Ups! Those are our in-person meetings in Connecticut for local Bloggers Babes to meet up and network—including me. :-) These meetings are super productive, and we always walk away with new friends and tips… including free professional coding help from my daughter and Blogger Babes head developer and designer, Bai:

I had some issues with my header being mobile friendly, and Ponn’s incredibly talented daughter (the developer and designer of Blogger Babes’ site) was able to provide me with assistance in fixing the problem.  I would never have been able to figure out that solution on my own! This is one benefit Ponn shared at the opening meet-up; it’s like getting free coaching and support services at $399/hour, which was a huge savings and well worth the effort of driving through the New England snow.

Where is She Now?

Vicky Cook
Vicky, with all her heart and moxie. :-)

We caught up with Vicky a couple of weeks ago to ask how she and her business have really progressed since she started living the #BloggerBabesLife. Here’s what she had to say:

While I could go on and on about how generous Ponn is with her knowledge and advice, her continuous encouragement and support of me and my website has been appreciated more than I can say.  I think this is a true testament to who Ponn is and the love she has for influencing and helping others along.

So where am I today?  After almost 12 months from first meeting Ponn and joining Blogger Babes (it’ll be a year in January), I have made big changes in my life, including the following:

  • In narrowing my focus on my blog and relaunching with a completely new look, feel, name, etc., I found my true calling and have enrolled in coaching school to become a certified life coach.
  • I have my exit plan to start blogging and coaching full-time and leave my 9-5 job for good!
  • I’m traveling even more than ever!
  • I’ve met SO many amazing women that have influenced and guided me towards finding my own tribe, which wouldn’t have been possible without my very focused blog and networking (as encouraged by Ponn and the Blogger Babes).
  • I’m following my dreams and living a more authentic life… including all the things I said in my initial bio that Ponn so astutely read when we first met.  She encouraged me to blog and not wait for retirement (I had stated in my bio that I’ll never be bored when I retire because I have so many hobbies and interests!).

That’s right… Vicky’s leaving her 9-5 to blog and coach full time! How incredible is that? :-)

So, if you learn nothing else from this post: I encourage you to define your own #BloggerBabesLife—blog about it, read, and apply what you learn from Blogger Babes, network live and online, and maybe you’ll be living the life you deserve a lot sooner than you ever imagined!

Vicky Cook is a lifestyle blogger and a champion of living a life you love. You might also call her a dream chaser, self-love igniter, champion goal-setter, wannabe globetrotter, and overall life lover! She helps women who want to do more with their lives, but aren’t quite sure what they need to do to make their dreams happen.  Vicky’s Moxie Girls tribe is where you can connect with her, be inspired to follow your dreams, and find a love for yourself and your life. Give her a shout out below!
