How to Create a Shoppable Fashion Trends Post with ShopStyle | Blogger Babes

This guest post is by our very own Ali Levine, whom you may remember from last year, when she was our Blogger Babes Ambassador at New York Fashion Week Winter/Fall 2015! We’re so excited that she’s sharing this great tutorial on how to make your fashion posts more shoppable!

Hi, fashionistas! My name is Ali Levine, and I am definitely not your typical fashion blogger. I am a celebrity wardrobe stylist and fashion expert by trade, and I fell into the blogsphere over the last three years.

It started out as a once-a-week thing. I was inspired to write about what I was wearing and the current trends I was following. Eventually, I coined the term TrendsTues® , and before Instagram, many brands, artists, and followers would tweet me and follow what I was wearing and then show me what they were wearing using my #TrendsTues hashtag. This further inspired me to want to dive deeper into my blog.

As I continued to grow my blog by a lot of trial and error, I learned that many brands that I used to style my celebrities wanted me to work with them as well.

This is where I began to learn how to monetize my blog, utilize my brands, and style myself further not just in my own style, but also with what others wanted to learn and see.

How to Create a Shoppable Fashion Trends Post with ShopStyle

1. Monetize Your Blog with ShopStyle

There are many ways to monetize your own blog. One great site is ShopStyle. ShopStyle is open to all bloggers, fashionistas, and anyone wanting to monetize their blog or social media accounts.

On ShopStyle, you create an account and sign up, and then you’re able to see current sales alerts, search for millions of products, and create lists of items. ShopStyle then provides you with an affiliate link, similar to rewardStyle, with their own shopstyle.it.

You also can create BUY IT buttons to click. I honestly haven’t tried this yet, but I know many bloggers who do it, and I plan on venturing in on this part of affiliations for 2016.

2. Make Them Love You

The trick with any type of shoppable post is to make it genuine so that others not only love your style, but love you. Use your blog to teach your fellow fans and bloggers how to shop and attain your looks and fashion. Between being a celebrity stylist and now a blogger, I have been blessed with how many people love how I style myself and my clients, and therefore, want to learn or be inspired.

That’s what blogging is all about—being inspired! I love to inspire people, and fashion is such a fun way to do it. This leads to monetization, which is a beautiful thing! Your fans want to wear what you’re wearing too, and you are giving them the tools on how to do it.

3. Help Your Followers Find Your Look

Take a look at this winter holiday look that I wore at a recent red carpet event. Some people don’t even know that some of these brands exist! You can help them find them by using your affiliate links and shop it/buy it links on your platform.

I’ll give you examples with the rewardStyle and ShopStyle apps (If you’ve never tried an app like this before, we also recommend CoSign and FashionTap. —Ed.).

First up, rewardStyle:

Once you've opened up the app, you'll see previously scheduled posts and be able to create new ones. Start by selecting your photo. Then select products you're wearing or similar ones. You also have the option to save products you've found in categories and find them more easily, like my "Currently Obsessed" list. Select your products! Once you've selected, you'll see the commission you'll earn if someone purchases the item (since the brand I was wearing wasn't in the rewardStyle system, I chose something similar). Hit publish! You can now create an affiliate link and use it in your posts to let your fans fellow bloggers shop.

Simple, right?

Now for ShopStyle, which works pretty similarly:

Open up the app and search! I'm looking for some heels that went with my winter outfit. You can create lists that generate collages for you automatically, with as many or little options as you’d like. The collage then gives you an affiliate link to copy to your blog or social media account, and you're done!

I hope this post inspires you to create a blog or further your success on your blog!

Don’t be afraid to fail and take risks… I think I’ve been the most successful because of that!

Follow my blog at www.alilevine.com and on social media @Alilevinedesign. See you on the internet, dolls!
